Coming Fall 2024

Representing
Over-50 Women of Color in the
Media Space

I am Kathy O.

I am part of an under-represented market in media by virtue of melanin and age.

I am over 55. I don't look it. I don't feel it. However, I do bring the experience and know-how that comes with that.

I began my arts grind later in life.

I move external to the traditional spaces of Hollywood, ATL, and NYC. The South is my backyard. The world is my stage.

I converge cinematic & visual arts, event production, digital equity, and strategy.

I make creativity my business.

Kathy Lofton was cast in the role of Bettie James, aka "Grams," in the summer 2024 production of Hoop Street. She co-stars with Atlanta-based actor Ben Holmes, who portrays her athletically gifted, yet troubled, basketball player grandson, Mason "Mace" James.

The feature is written and executive produced by Teresa Dickerson, CEO of Isaiah 54 Productions, and directed and co-produced by Princeton James Echols. Jordan Danelz, principal of Gravity Productions, is also a co-producer. Jason Thibodeaux is director of photography.

The film was shot entirely in Memphis and is slated for release in 2025 on streaming platforms, with limited theatrical screenings. You can follow the production on Instagram.
